Foundation 1881 in Wuppertal

On 19.06.1881, Gustav-Heinrich Sachsenröder concluded a contract of employment with the parchment master Theodor Biesenkamp to establish a parchment factory with him. The factory started operation on 1.2.1882 in the present Wuppertal .

Innovative products from Wuppertal

The production started with parchment paper for packaging and decorations. But Gustav-Heinrich Sachsenröder quickly recognized the advantages of hydrate cellulose and soon began producing multi-layer parchments. This innovative power inspired his son Gustav Sachsenröder, who became a pioneer: He was the first to succeed in producing endless vulcanized fiber.

Closely associated with Wuppertal

The third generation Gustav-Adolf Sachsenröder and Günter Sachsenröder continued the development of new materials: they expanded the vulcanized fiber product range of the SAVUTEC® brand and further expanded the production of GESADUR®. Since 1996, Dirk Sachsenröder has managed the family business in the fourth generation. Like his ancestors, he feels closely connected to "his" city Wuppertal . With great personal commitment, Dirk Sachsenröder promotes and supports the city and the business location along the river Wupper.

Corporate and social commitment

In influential functions, Dirk Sachsenröder promotes the development and networking of the business location along the river Wupper. In the Federation of Employers' Associations (VBU) he is the chairman of the board of the Employers' Association of the Chemical Industry in the Bergisch Land. He is a shareholder of the technology centre Wuppertal (W-tec) and a member of the Industry and Environment Committee of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Wuppertal, Solingen, Remscheid. In addition, Dirk Sachsenröder is also involved in the Rotary Club Wuppertal-Süd for social tasks.
