Sustainable composite material made from vulcanised fibre

How much is a higher process reliability in the processing of their precious wood veneers worth to them?

Maximum process reliability,
minimum reject rate:

Pleasing news for automotive and boat interior designers as well as luxury furniture manufacturers and designers: We have developed a composite material that ensures that the real wood veneers used in the surface finishing of multi-dimensional mouldings do not crack or break: SAVUTEC® Compo. SAVUTEC® Compo is an extremely flexible material: it is easy to shape, is ideally suited as a composite material for veneers and reduces the risk of material defects during shaping to a minimum. SAVUTEC® Compo can be deep-drawn and is characterized by very favorable postforming and softforming properties as well as high thermal resistance. However, it can also serve equally well as a veneer replacement layer.

It has never been as valuable as it is today: the raw material precious wood.

Increasing demands in terms of aesthetics and design are leading to ever more imaginative or form-perfect solutions in automotive and boat interiors as well as in the furniture industry, where a decorative wood look plays a very important role. Take, for example, a beautiful dashboard made of burl wood. Or the bar of a luxury yacht clad in precious wood. Or an ergonomically shaped wooden seat shell of a designer chair. Due to the increasingly rare and valuable raw material wood, only thin but nevertheless very expensive real wood veneers are used today, where the risk of cracks and fractures during processing or shaping is quite high.

The secret of SAVUTEC® success: vulcanised fibre.

SAVUTEC® Compo is made from vulcanised fibre, a material that used to be widely used but has now almost fallen into oblivion. This is an environmentally friendly composite material whose basic material consists largely of cotton fibres. These renewable plant fibres are processed into raw paper, which is converted into SAVUTEC® brand vulcanised fibre by parchmentisation. SAVUTEC® is strong, horn-like and also an extremely flexible material: it is not only easy to shape, but can also be bent, embossed, punched, cut, drilled, milled, sanded, planed and glued. The areas of application are correspondingly diverse.

Trends and visions
become innovations.

We are constantly picking up on trends, which we develop further in conjunction with our visions into innovative product solutions ready for series production. SAVUTEC® Compo is another example of the great innovative strength that has always distinguished our company.

Our promise:
No matter what you want to finish with your precious veneers: With SAVUTEC® Compo you will succeed without cracks and breaks.
