  • high mechanical load capacity such as high wear resistance, layer strength compressive strength, impact strength
  • extreme tensile strength
  • Resistant to oils, petrol and other organic solvents
  • conditional resistance to diluted acids and alkalis
  • no aging and light influence (colours fade, however)

Behaviour under heat / heat influence

  • higher thermal resistance than paper
  • low heat conduction
  • high flash point
  • burns slowly and evenly with a small, yellow flame
  • clearly defined burning edge

Electrical properties

  • good dielectric properties
  • electrically insulating, electrical insulator
  • antistatic finish possible (by means of glycerine and thus increased moisture content)

Behaviour under the influence of water / moisture

  • wet strength (up to approx. 50 % of the strength, but with swelling)
  • more hygroscopic than paper
